She woke up with heavy eyelids, a sore throat and energy the size of a pea. She thought to herself, "I am going to make it at work today?" Slowly gets up from her sleeping station which is the couch. She's been sleeping there for the last couple of days because her cough has been keeping everyone awake, even the neighbours dog.
Honestly, I have no idea how I made it through this week without passing out. My husband had just returned from a three week China exchange program at school and the first day he came home, he was sick. I tried everything I could to not get sick, like taking vitamins and drinking plenty of fluids but a week later, I got sick. I had just a simple cold and the lost of my voice. I can only assume it would last a couple of days with lots of fluid and rest. I had been sick for a week and I finally went to see my family doctor. She tells me I am at the end of my cold and my asthma has returned. So, I am back on my inhaler (when I need it) and I have to take things extremely easy,
On Thursday, I had my first full sleep on the couch, when I would fall a sleep though my cough would wake me up but I wasn't having enough fits that it consistently kept me up. It felt really nice to sleep a full 6 hours but I could tell the next day that I was extremely exhausted.
On Friday night, I decided that I would sleep in the bedroom after a full week and half of sleeping out on the couch. My back really thanked me. I was able to fall a sleep but my cough woke me up a couple of times during the night but it didn't force me to make myself sleep on the couch. I woke up this morning, feeling extremely overly tired again and I knew that my body needs to catch up on sleep to get better.
Tonight after work, my goals are to have a nap till my husband comes home from work and then maybe some dinner plans with a couple of friends!
I am excited for more sleeps tonight.
